Trifles or Monsters of 2014 ???

Suddenly, I do not want to walk another step, just lie back, relax.... sleep; turn my face away from the world..  Yes, I do not want to catch any more waves, trying to balance my ride. Tired of surfing.   2014..I do not want to walk into your year where there is such a tsunami  of baggages waiting. Can we cope? Can the poor man- which includes the likes of you and me cope? Pardon...I mean the likes of me. Business owners will find it such a burden, with the higher operation cost. People on the ground-the survival. What's awaiting us? Fuel prices have gone up...still going up? GST -the new "Tai Kor" on the scene will bring in more hardship-subsidies going and gone, the electricity rates, the hike in toll rates..? Dear God, what else?? What a tornado! What a hurricane and they will definitely leave a trail of brokenness and destruction all over the place.

I do not know, but  people who earn wages of a few hundred ringgit, perhaps a thousand or two, a month- how could they survive? Look out for the Soup Kitchen??Stress, anxieties, you are already leeched on to people's mind even before the year has come in. If there is land, space , perhaps, we could grow our own vegetables and go completely veg. If they haven't destroyed  so many trees, perhaps, we could  use the barks from the trees to cover ourselves. For sure, I foresee a blooming of the second hand trade-clothes, furniture..xtra, xtra. Remember , when  our eyes rolled whenever we see people  using plastic plates, cups- once upon a time? Plastic is a way of life now.

Will more children miss out on education, since the cost of that investment has ballooned triple?? Hei, anyone planning  on increasing pay so that people could survive better? What's that? Purchasing Power has gone on budget and  diet now? Of course, he has to. His worth has slipped .Is it  half or just  a quarter of his original value now?

And the crime rates....Now, we have to look around , be alert  when we walk in the streets or go walking in the parks. 2014, will the police need to increase their work force, just so that people could at least have basic protection and return home safely? When people find it hard to survive, they turn to desperate means.  I'm actually not looking forward to welcoming 2014. Too stressful, but does Time give us a choice?
