Trust in the Lord, overcomes Evil

Others put obstacles in our path and cause us to forget what we need to do..but God  empowers and He drives away  the clouds of forgetfulness.....for is not everything in His Hands and everything designated by Him? Even if it takes forever to fight off the evil....the power of the Lord  remains steadfast... He leads and protects....Keep strength, brethren  the Lord stands with those who trust in Him!!

Isaiah proclaims the word of the Lord

As I prayed for a word from the Lord and opened the Bible, this is what He has to say to me:-

The Lord removes all obstacles

But He who takes refuge in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain. Isaiah 57:13.

The Lord sees the weakness in me and does not fault rather He requite me with comfort.....He sees goodness in me  and  with patience, continues to mould and nurture me ..Even if it takes a life time...He steadfastly continues to lead and cherish the being of me!
People! It is He who clears your obstacles that your river flows smoothly again!~!

Psalms 57

My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast!
I will sing and make melody!
Awake, my soul!

Awake, O harp and lyre!
I will awake the dawn!
I will give thanks to thee , O Lord.
among the peoples;
I will sing praises to thee among the nations.

For thy steadfast love is great to the heavens.

thy faithfulness to the clouds.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let thy glory be over all the earth!

William Yau, we pray for your safety

Where is little William Yau??? Imagine how frightened and helpless he must be..if he had been taken by someone...There are so many people out there helping to find him, and yet..not many people are praying for him....sometimes prayers are more powerful than all the eyes trying to seek him. Let us pray that angels surround him and soon the people who had taken him will find it in their hearts to release him and give him back to his parents.

And the parents, they should not be forever punished for a mistake committed in a spur of a moment. Sometimes, we do things, without thinking...and I pray that they will be given a chance to redeem their error for the sake of little William Yau.

Big Q-Just for the musing

Another day  pushing on to tomorrow. Folks have you ever sat down and try to connect with the linking of the day and night...that continuous cycle which cannot be broken , unless you are taken out of the energy zone in which case you are no more- the logic behind every dot, every dash, and every line, every colour that makes up the horizon..the sleep, the waking hours..every breath..every purpose of which journeying back to the source demands of us???Humongous, too big to grasp...and yet it is simply termed -  existence. living in this earthly realm ......  when one dies...another life springs up....

Golden Jubilee -Sister Marie Regina de Lourdes

Father Albert led his brother priests in the
Jubilee mass celebrations for Sr. Regina and what
an  awesome celebration it was!!

 Present- Fr. Surain
Fr. David,Fr. George
What a splendid affair! What a splendid Golden Jubilee celebrations for Sister Marie Regina de Lourdes at OLL last evening! Despite the heavy downpour, many turned up for the celebration mass. Friends, relatives, supporters from Little Sister of the Poor, Cheras where sister Regina is now based, a host of priests to jointly preside over the mass celebrations plus  well wishers and parishioners coming to celebrate with her. Wow!

. When you are celebrating 50 years of religious life, it is really something- very cherished  to have the community turning out in full force to celebrate your golden milestone with you and Sister Marie Regina de Lourdes must have been  overwhelmed  - and indeed she was! She was expressive of her appreciation in her thank you speech - the warmth  and  heartfelt support she received from the parish of OLL, the parish priest and all who had come and added  good presence in her honour.

renewing her vows-Sr. Regina
Fr. Michael , in his homily reminded the congregation that this celebrations, was in fact  a glorification and thankgiving of God's  grace and goodness that Sister Regina had fruitfully journeyed her 50 years well, doing God's work. To be a religious is a beautiful expression of  loving God, manifesting in an act of  life time devotion to carrying out His will.

It was not only a thanksgiving celebrations, for Sr. Regina,  it was also a  time
to renew her vows of devotion to God and Sr. Regina did it without hesitation...she is happy in her calling and her voice rang out strong and vibrant and still very much believing. Bravo Sister! Watching and listening in, Yours Truly was touched...and a little awed. Being a religious has its own  good values..Look what a big family she has..- all eager to share in her happiness and wishing her many more happy days and years serving God.

After the mass , the celebrations continued with a fellowship dinner for all who came. Catching up with old friends and relatives and overflowing good food!! ..That people ,  is the OLL trade mark for all its fellowship. !!

Chewing Gum from the Sunday Homily.

Do your best and leave the rest to God or Leave it in God's Hands and You just do your best?? Is there a difference? Let's just dissect.

The first ..you do your part -calling upon your self belief and trust in God, you work hard, sweat out your action and leave your achievements in the hands of God....

The second...Everything is in the hands of God. God materialises all wants- and if it is the will of God, you will achieve.

Both has got a strong element of Faith...both has God as the provider of achievement and attainment. The first statement is proactive......self action + the grace of God = achievement . The second? Achievements is dependent on God's plans. You just try to stay balanced and on course. Fatalistic - working along the predestined path of God's provision...

What do you think folks?

Down with the Big Bad Flu

It was a mother of a flu I caught a week ago and it left me so weaken, I found myself sleeping my life away...This morning..even my  stomach was not spared...wind was running up and down .. horribly uncomfortable.

It is now more than a week after I caught the virus, and  I  still  cough uncontrollably and at the wrong times.. despite taking all my medication faithfully. I still feel dizzy. The irony is that the young laddie who generously passed  his flu virus to me was as fit as a fiddle when he came into class yesterday while I was limp as death. Ah well...where health is concerned, you can't fight with the young!

Now I am more convinced than ever that health is the greatest wealth of the new era...without health...many of us, especially the autumners...are dead meat-left isolated in a corner.. When you are sick, only you feel the pain and the distress.., no one can suffer pain on your behalf..you are no longer a child...and you are no longer  eligible for get well hugs....those are reserved for the young. At most you get mummers of sympathies and " get well soon"  messages SO, whether you are a spring duckling or an old quack quack, it pays to keep that part of your wealth corner strong and vibrant. ..Spare me a little space in your daily prayers folks!!
