Lead me Oh God

I walk as a child, along this path you have destined me,
Learning skills;  absorbing knowledge, every step of the way-,
Long and winding..this  road, leading into the unknown;
mysteries all the way...
Colours changing all the time, the unexpected-, unpredictability calls everyday; Challenges to be met, storms to battle...but You lead me steadfastly across rough terrains..to scale mountainous peaks...You blew winds of courage...You taught me the joy of achievements...and the responsibility of making good this life given me....Blessed be  God..forever!

Psalms 40-A Reflection

Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust
who does not turn to the proud,
to those who go astray after false gods
Thou hast multiplied, O Lord my God
thy wondrous deeds and thy thoughts towards us;
none can compare with thee!
Were I to proclaim and tell of them
they would be more than can be numbered
Psalms 40:1-5

Blessed, indeed  are the people, who remained firm and trusting in the Lord, when temptation calls and false gods beckons....

We are , but passing travellers ,on journeying grounds..finding our way home. The way is fraught with mirages, temporal pleasures , temptations -danger to the spirit and the soul..

Keep your ears tuned to the voice of the Lord....turn eyes of  trust and faith steadfast in the direction of his divine light...Let no evil seduce and steer you off course  or you will  miss the call of the Master to return to the safety of his fold.

Simple facts for first graders

Some one asked for a little variety. something other than religion and self empowerment. I found these..or rather..it found me...a friend forwarded it to me. basic , simple information but good stuff. Enjoy!!!

Nourish your gifts

Calling out to God when the going gets tough is second nature to the human in us...some people work hard and ask for grace to smoothen their engines.....others just sit and wallow in self pity and yes in self righteousness as well. They do nothing and  expect manna to drop from heaven...and yet when manna does drop..they still cry and complain it is not good enough...Appreciate and you start to see your blessings!!

God did not create lazy bones, nor does he condone lazy bones. He gave talents and He expects you to make full use of the gifts given you to the best of your ability...You are responsible for nurturing, nourishing  and ensuring that your gifts takes beautiful shape and form. That is Gratitude.

Five Loaves and Two Fishes

A little boy was willing to share his five loaves and two fishes and the Lord blessed them and they multiplied. Not only were the five thousand fed, but after they had eaten, twelve basketful of left overs were collected....The wonders of the Lord.!!!

They were in a remote region and there was no food but .He did not sent the crowds away...He had compassion for them..Examine the words of the gospel...The Lord Jesus, looked up to heaven and gave thanks, then He broke the loaves....and the  hungry were fed.... The beauty and marvel of the Lord !! Even the Son give thanks to the Holy Father in Heaven, before a miracle could be performed...and we, the creations of God...forget to  appreciate and express our daily thank yous!!

This very action...manifested that a single act of charity could reach out to comfort multitudes across the horizon of need and the Lord God stands willing to bless and multiply in abundance good works, contributions  and actions of good hearts, that they energize and give life and hope  to the needy...Blessed are those who give...it is more blessed to give than to receive..these contain a wealth  and depth of meanings...Reflect!!

What is happiness in Christian context??

The strength and the happiness of a man consists in finding out the way in which God is going, and going in that way, too.” Henry Ward Beecher.

The Lord gives us some direction what leads to  happiness:
  • Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.
  • Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.
  • Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
  • Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God
  • Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God

The Visiting Image of Our Holy Mother- first mass since the home-coming

Quite a crowd...quite a crowd...it was at OLL this evening...Over the past few days since the glass panel was moved to OLL, streams of visitors and devotees had been pouring into our lovely  church, to pray. This evening, many who had came to view the Phenomenon and pray  also  stayed back for mass..with .many having to sit outside the church building..

And what a beautiful  rounded homily, it was this evening- a wealth of information –and refocusing prominence back  to the Lord. I’m sure not many know that facing east is of our Christian faith.., I didn’t. But really,...it is  symbolic of the beginning...the light coming into the world..giving existence - life energy ..

The altar is still WIP, but  better a thing of beauty to be marvelled  rather than a rush job ..

Reflecting on the prominence of the cross ...that is our Christian way of life...the word “conceal’ is totally irrelevant. The Rev.  has a point there...the cross expands into the Christian horizon... our horizon...It is the light that shows us the way. Putting prominence on the cross of Jesus is bringing back our focus on the essence of our faith-the Lord Jesus who came and made it possible for us to call God Father.

People of God’s pastures...are we not all called to revered and honour our God??

YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND"

No Problems with photo loading now, thank God!!

Panels with Holy Mother's Image is now in the Chapel of OLL

I took a drive just to see if I am allowed into the Chapel...and when I reached there- OMGosh!! Long line of cars...OLL! Rev. Parish Priest are you sure, you are ready for this??? All of a sudden, the Chapel looks small..

The news is out.. today we have parishioners, coming to pray for special intentions ......tomorrow...devotees and visitors from other parishes..then  pilgrims from out of state...pray brethren...you guys are up to the task......Oh woman of little faith!! I should be speaking words of reassurance like ...have no fear....but  then, we are dealing with human emotions here and some people could be over zealous.

The panels with the images, stood on each side of  the cross of Jesus, and watched over by the Holy Mother. People are coming to pray, they are devotedly praying.......I was so touched by a lady, who was emotional, as she held her rosary and prayed...Those who were kneeling were so engrossed, I have a feeling, they do not even noticed others around them!

Hei, People, if you come, come with  faith..do not only look at the image alone ...look beyond. that image...feel .for the presence of the Holy Mother....You know what some ladies told me...what I hear around me?? It is the Holy Mother, she has come to us with a message and we are so proud...to have her in Klang, in our very own church...our parish!

Lourdes, in Malaysia...Brethren , it is a responsibility, a huge responsibility...many people with needs will come  full of expectancy....I see wheel chairs readied...but  if the crowd swells..you will need more than wheel chairs...sensitivity comes in...PR, crowd management comes in xtra...What about the parking? That is a big, big issue, mother of a headache..once  devotees and pilgrims throng our beautiful church.

For YT, the Holy Mother is already in her home  parish- Our Lady of Lourdes Klang,...the Lord has always been present...and where He is, the Holy Trinity resides and manifests.....what is now required is action on your part-.pray, trust and believe for  miracles  to smile your way. Miracles are not out there...it is within you..crystallised by your own Faith..

Assurance

Health & Wealth Plus Talk on Will Writing-OLL-SCM

Sunday 18th Nov 2012

Dr. Tan & Dr. Louis David
giving care services
The Health Screening and Consultation for Seniors together with the ever important Will Writing Talk went through very smoothly this morning at the community hall of Our Lady of Lourdes Klang.

Phileo and  nurses of the
Catholic Nurses Guild hard
at work
Good Support –around seventy SCM members and parishioners attended this event. Two doctors were on hand to attend to the seniors –Dr. Tan from a private hospital and Dr. Louis David from Klinik Jaffar Klang. Both had very kindly agreed to set aside some time from their busy schedule to provide free consultation- CARE services, this morning . Members who came, lined up and took their turns to see the two doctors. Two consultation rooms  were set up for the purpose.

Another team-Phileo and the  retired nurses from the Catholic Nurses Guild also had a busy  morning checking the pressure and blood sugar of attendees.  The morning's  health service garnered BIG thumbs up from all attendees.  Among the crowd was Francis Benedict who had a broken arm as a result of a fall. He especially,   was most appreciative of the facilities provided.

Later in the morning, Alan Goh, a lawyer, gave a talk on the importance of writing a will –touching on the legal and personal aspect. Writing a Will not only protects your assets but ensures that you take care and provide for your loved ones in the case of any eventuality .  The awakening for the day was -All should have a valid will  written as a security measure for their family and loved ones.

There are a lot of horror stories floating around...when grief strikes...some people find themselves totally penniless even though their deceased loved ones may have plenty in their banking accounts and in term of assets. Sadly, they had forgotten one important Love providence - writing a will, giving their  surviving loved ones the right to their  assets.  Caring for loved ones means providing continued care especially when you are gone.

Health is Wealth and so is Care for loved ones..in any eventuality!

Holy Mother, Reflections

Would I deny the Holy Mother? Would I deny the Lord Jesus? Would I deny the Holy Trinity?

Mary  who had found great favour with God and brought in  the Redeemer of the world. Her journey began with firm trust and belief in God ...... doing God's will...

Her journey continued after her son's  ascension ...she was faithfully waiting with the disciples for the appearance of the Holy Spirit....she was the pillar of strength  ...in the days of the first Christians....Would I deny the Holy Mother? Would the Lord want me to?  Before He was condemned..He had her entrusted to John his faithful follower...Witness the love and care...

And she was always mindful of her son's wishes..Do what ever he tells you ...she told the servants at the wedding in Cana...and that reminder had remained right unto our days...the mother's love for her son...glorify and focus on her son..our Lord Jesus Christ....would I deny her wishes???

Open your hearts and listen to the voice of faith People! Listen and Reflect!

Psalms 19:7-10 -Proclaiming the goodness of God

Sometimes when our minds are confused and our spirit restless..the psalms are good grounds to pick up  clarity and calm.We are simple people of God and in Him -we look for direction. Everything becomes perfect when we trust and believe in the Lord God.

Subang Medical Centre-The Divine Image

It was a wet morning.. down cast skies ...raining when I headed for Subang Medical Centre.. I hadn't planned to go again..but I heard some very enthusiastic sharing from my fellow parishioners after mass this morning, ..and I was  like, am I missing something? I just have to pay another visit to  Subang Medical Centre.. .Everyone was into faith and faith talk ..unusual ...not a familiar scene in a catholic environment. They talk about conversion of hearts, they  spoke of the renewal of faith through the Holy Mother. I asked the parish priest..And what do you think Father? His response was very  Fr. Michael Chua - mindful of the teachings and stance of the catholic church in such a situation. Not a hair out of place...The Church always teaches prudence , he responded....and yes  he promised to come up with some catechesis .
Lighting candles for prayers
Here to pray for healing

Here, use the big eyes
I was hoping to be the lone ranger this morning..I wanted to spend some time contemplating, for some connection. There were already reports of miraculous healing ...but I was in  for a surprise..the site was swarmed with people armed with.umbrellas, some uncaring of the heavy drizzle even when I reached there. Rain or no rain...believers had come early. As I walked to join the crowd...the recitation of the rosary rang out.... I could not help but joined in with the recitation...There is something about the rosary...there was something so beautiful in group prayer....they stopped you in your tracks..an opening of hearts to God...and this morning..the call was so clear...Holy Mother of God...pray for us!!.This morning, I learnt that.....divine image or not.... no one cares.....what matters is faith..you see what you believe and you believe what you hear and was reported. Gosh this morning..the air perpetuate with recitations of the Hail Mary...I could see families standing together praying...I could see family togetherness..I could see love and care...This family was wheeling in their elderly mother and I asked...Are you here to pray for healing? Their spontaneous response ..." oh yes" spoke of expectancy...I watched as they joined the crowd...the lady in the wheelchair immediately raised her hands and joined them in prayer, as soon as she gazed upwards..Right in front..two ladies were kneeling..eyes closed, hands joined together in earnest prayer. One of them, was shaking as she prayed...such love and belief in the intercessory powers of the  Holy Mother..amazing..absolutely awesome!!!
Holy Mother pray for me, pray for us!

If this sighting could bring about such a gush of faith, it is certainly good ...but the crowd is swelling and soon that site could well turn into religious,  pilgrimage grounds and a hospital no any longer...Perhaps  the church had done the right thing...arranging to transfer the image out-to the sanctuary of  church grounds, where people could pray and mediate within the grounds of church.  Whatever it is, it certainly appears that the path to renewal  and fortification of faith is already in motion... The Holy Mother is opening and renewing hearts to  return to God and bond with Him . She had always,  unfailingly stressed that we should  listen to what the Lord wants of us.. Divine , authentic or not...let the Church authorities decide..For us, lay people of God......let the Holy Spirit  guide us....let our faith speak and act to bring in  the miracles.

Our Lady of Lourdes, Klang

I feel the presence of our Lady whenever I prayed at the grotto.. the very grotto, we have at Our Lady of Lourdes Klang....it is a warm and loving feeling which descends and fills your heart....a mother's reassurance....I have heard your prayers and I will place them in God's hands for you...Gaze at her image and then close your eyes while you pray...The Lord Jesus supports her...(with your eyes closed, you will still see her image -the bright glowing outline of her image before you.-try it people) ..and when that happens, you'll want to remain before her longer than usual, because, you get into a conversation with her.It is the relationship thing-between mother and child.

People should come to this very grotto and pray...people should make pilgrimages to this very beautiful church Our Holy Mother so loved..she is here ever ready to listen and   intercede on your behalf if you have that faith in her, if you have the faith we should have in her son, The Lord Jesus Christ..

p/s  for the good of your spiritual connection and others there- please off your mobile phones while you are there.

The Divine Image of the Holy Mother@ SDMC- My story

Everyone was talking about the divine image of the Holy Mother at the Subang Medical Centre..everyone was talking about the awesome images. Even the main stream papers had some up with some interesting reports.I thought why not have a look?? Monday morning, 11 Nov ,around 11.20a,m,, I was there. No need to ask where the sighting was located. As I entered the road leading to the Medical Centre, there was an unusual congestion. Four members of the Rela  civil corp team were directing the traffic.  I saw scores of people crossing the road , a few stood at the opposite side zooming their camera upwards...

This must be it..I told myself. I was lucky to find a parking space and soon joined the rest at the scene. Everyone were looking upwards...I could not see anything...there..there..up there...a young man pointed...I looked up...there was indeed a white image ..more like a splash of white paint..but that's not the image that  was circulating ...I looked enquiring at the people who had gathered there....it is the glare of the sun, they told me..the best time to come is at 5.00p.m., at that time the image glows....I took a few snaps and  left. for my appointment down town, resolving to return later.

Around 2.45p.m., I received an excited call from my friend Isidore...come now, come now...the image is glowing..you can  actually see her blue mantle clearly glowing ...Remembering the white paint like splash on the window pane . I saw in the morning, .I answered..really??!! Marie, Marie...she was insistent...it is true...really. There are a lot of parishioners here now...and Fr. R is kneeling and praying at the scene...we are all here...

An excited call like that could not fail  to spur any  sceptical person  into action...so I threw what I was doing and made my way down to Subang Medical Centre...You guys know what Kuala Lumpur is like ,on a  working day..I fought my way out of traffic  and managed to reach there around 3.30p.m. My friend was right, there were indeed quite a crowd there and more were seen hurrying across the road..some were even running. By now...I was all excited myself and looked around for a parking...gosh! the double parking!! Finally I decided to park a little further away...I was lucky, there was a stretch of empty land in front of some resident houses and  there was a vacant spot among the neatly parked cars.

At the Scene

Like the rest, I hurried across the road...a man honked at me..Right after I crossed the road, I looked at the window pane where the image was...true enough..I could see the blue mantle clearly..but it was no longer glowing....I gazed at the image..and I asked "Is it really you Holy Mother. Have you come to us with a message?" I mingled with the crowd. At times like this, faith speaks and you get to hear some marvellous words of faith...and of course some sceptical ones as well...A man holding his down syndrome son by the hand, pointed to the image and asked him" Do you see Mama Mary??" A group of ladies were discussing the image..."it is not only about the image..we should all gather together to pray and asked her why she had come...maybe there is some injustice...I asked some ladies...what their feelings were witnessing this phenomenal happening...goose bumps...you know..wanting to pray and we prayedA gentleman who had been coming to the scene , since the first day of the occurance, described it as...."aiyoh...so really"...no words could explain the feeling...there was this awe struck  look on his face....the look in his eyes..spoke volumes.. All around me people were praying..seriously praying.

Some ladies were lighting candles ...there were two candle containers..filled with lighted candles..Truly we have a shrine... a religious site right here at Subang Medical Centre.
at 11.20a.m.
At 3.40p.m.
Some were on their phones...what they say is really true...I am not baffling..come and see . Of course the scene had also turned into a photography  paradise...People using all sorts of cameras could be seen snapping away....Some  like YT lamented that their camera do not have have long distance zooming device.needed at moments like this..the image was just too far up.. for clear shots.

I took the occasion to check with the guard...how long has this been going on?? Three days, he said..no one was certain..who actually saw it first. Whatever it was..the crowd had been swelling and the hospital management had put up a sign...stating that while they respected the need of the faithful to pray , they should be mindful of the need of patients who were at the hospital to recuperate from their illnesses. But then daily prayers by  multitudes such as these could  only auger well for the hospital. This is as good as blessing the grounds,,,and hospitals do require optimum  healing grace and that could only come from the Divine and fervent prayers.

As I left the scene...I noticed construction workers...making the sign of the cross, their hands  in prayer. More people were coming in...

It is very much a matter of personal faith..what you believe in ..remember it is faith that speaks in such a phenomena and Faith said the Lord, move mountains.
