Now therefore says the Lord of hosts: Consider how you have fared. You have sown much, and harvested little; you eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but never have your fill; you clothe yourselves  but no one is warm; and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes. Haggai 1:5-6

The predicament, the unfruitfulness of those who labour and only receive a fraction of the toil and sweat. Their laments and Whys are best answered in Haggai 1: 7-.the words of the Lord God...when you brought it home, I blew it away...

We have not acknowledged our God, we have not placed him first and foremost in our lives..we scrambled and busied ourselves with our own house and forgot about the Lord God and so the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth their produce.

There was a story of this lady in China. She was a road side hawker just making  a living. One day she decided to help a vagrant and took him in and looked after him. That was the start of her giving..she fed more homeless and hungry people and that's when fortune smiled upon her..Her business flourished and today, she owns restaurants-she is wealthy and she still continues her giving. Sure tell us something huh? The more you give..the more you receive.
